Hi, my name is Crystal Greene. I am 14 years old. I first started drumming five years ago. When I heard my sister angela drumming i thought it was awesome. I thought to myself, 'I want to try it'. So I asked my sister if I could. She said, "Well if you really want to then grab a chair and a beater". Well of course I did and I really got into drumming, I still drum beacause it comes from my heart and soul and I love it. It's fun seeing everyone dance in the circle when we drum; it makes me love it more.
When my mom first got diagnosed with cancer, she didn't care what we had to do or wether or not she had a doctors appointment. She was always there for us girls when we were drumming at a powwow. After she passed away, I was pulled closer to the drum.
Anyway, this is why I still drum, still love to, and why I'm still so close to my drum sisters.
