About Teresa Tender Heart
My name is Teresa Tender Heart. I am a 21 year old college student majoring in communications. The call for me to be a drummer finally came to me about 6 years ago. I used to stand outside the drum arbor at all the powwows, listening to the drums and trying to pick up some of the songs. My first time drumming at a powwow actually happened to me a couple years ago. One of my favorite drums were going along and of course, there I was behind them. When they started singing a song I knew, I couldn't help but sing along. Later on, one of the drummers invited me in to drum with them. I can't quite explain how happy I was. Then this year, I have been drumming with a few of my favorite people. I call them all my sisters, and they mean the world to me.
This year on the drum has been absolutly wonderful. There's no better feeling than singing my heart out.
